FAQ

How to choose the right size bed?

We recommed that you choose the correct length of your bed according to your height. A tool for determining the ideal length of bed is the sum of your body height plus foot length.

  • You can try to determine the right width of bed by lying in a position with arms slightly bent. By doing so you will be able to verify whether the space is sufficient for you. We recommend a minimum width of 90 centimetres but if your bedroom area allows for more room, allow yourself the extra comfort.

How to specify the right size of bedframe for your bed?

  • Standard size

The actual size of the bed frame is always 1cm narrower and 5 cm shorter than the listed standard size. This ensures easy and correct fitting of the bed frame and mattress in the frame of the bed.

actual length of the bed frame: 185/195 cm for mattresses and beds sized 190/200 cm

actual width of bed frame: 79/89/99 cm for mattresses and beds sized 80/90/100 cm

  • Special size

A special sized bed frame can be made according to customer requirements, unless there are technical and functional factors which prevent this. If you need to have a bed frame made in a size different from that specified in the standard offer, we ask that your request specifies the exact dimensions of the bed frame (example: when requesting a bed frame sized 184 x 73 cm it will be specified as interior dimensions "184 x 73 cm" - exact exterior size of bed frame).

How to choose a suitable support for your mattress?

The first condition for a healthy and comfortable sleep is a quality bed which adapts to the anatomical shape of the body and supports the spine in a natural form while lying in all positions.

  • If the bed is too hard, the body tries to adapt to the bed and and places an unatural pressure on the spine.
  • On a bed which is too soft, during sleep the body sinks into the support, muscles are stressed or compressed and the spine is unnaturally curved.
  • The correct solution is flexible bed slats. These are divided into so-called anatomical zones, respecting the structure of the human body.

What are the advantages of flexible slatted bed frames?

A bed frame with flexible slats or suspension points provides the  necessary firmness or softening for different parts of the bed. Because of this the spine remains in its natural position while sleeping both on the back and on the side. The flexible support is able to accurately respond to the pressure of the human body on the mattress and does not put pressure on the joints or cause the sleeper to turn frequently or wake up with a feeling of stiff  muscles.

What are the advantages of an adjustable position bedframe?

An adjustable position bedframe provides more comfort in bed. If you like reading in bed, have a backache or if you have problems with swollen legs after a hard day at work, an adjustable position bed frame will provide the necessary comfort and relief. The bed frame is available with either manual or motorized adjustment.

What load can a bedframe with slats withstand?

Everybody is different and everybody has different requirements for bedframe load capacity. Moreover, body weight can change quite significantly even over a short period of time (pregnancy, long-term bedridden...). The normal load capacity of bedframes with a minimal number of 28 slats enables a load of 120 or 130 kg for body and mattress. If your demands are higher, choose a bedframe labelled MEGA which allows you to experience comfortable and healthy sleep with loads up to 160 kg.                                                                       .

Why is breathability of the entire bed important?

During sleep the human body excretes moisture by breathing and perspiration which penetrates the bedding, mattress and bed frame.  A person usually excretes almost 0.5 liters of water  within a single night by breathing and perspiration. Because of this the bed must be constructed in such a manner as to enable the best possible air circulation and to ‚breathe' from the bottom as well as the sides. If this is not the case, the moisture remains inside the mattress and it can become an ideal environment for the proliferation of dust mites and mold.

Is it possible to prevent accumulation of dust in the mattress or under the bed?

The interior of the bed is the ideal environment for dust accumulation which leads to breathing difficulties or allergies. A bedframe which has slats or has its entire surface covered by a film is very easily maintained and limits the amount of dust which can settle under the mattress.

Is it possible to produce a custom bedframe or a mattress in non-standard sizes?

If your requirements for length or width of bed vary from standard production sizes, we are able to make a custom bedframe and mattress exactly for your bed. Therefore there is no need to buy a new bed if the current one still provides good use. We are able to produce a custom-made bedframe and mattress within a short delivery time.
